Hi everybody,
I hope someone makes it clear to me. I’ve come across the collocation: feeling Eeyorish. I understand the phrase ( feeling depressed or somewhat pessimistic), but would like to know how often it is used in spoken English.
In my experience it is not common. I’m pretty sure I have never said it in my life. Outside the UK, and perhaps even outside a certain generation of speakers, I’m not sure if it would even be understood.
It comes from the classic English book (which is too good for just children) called ‘Winnie the Pooh’ by A.A.Milne. Eeyore was a very depressed donkey friend.
