im curious with “Where are you up to”

what does it mean? some time, i see someone meet with old friend and says where are you up to?..does it mean where have you been?

Hi Yasser,

I suggest that ‘Where are you up to?’ means: How far have you got? You could ask this when you want to know how far someone has got in reading a book, following a series of exams and so on. If you want to know what someone is doing at the moment, you could ask: What are you up to these days?

Hi dear Alan, I didn´t know this expression, thanks for the explantion, even though I was no the onw who asked, but at leas I took advanage in learning something kenw. Wha am I up to these days? just in geting much better in English, a speaking, and specially writing. thanks again sir.
