'expect of' vs. 'expect from'

Hi,
What’s the difference between ‘expect of’ and ‘expect from’?

Many thanks,
Nessie.

Hi Nessie

There’s no difference between them .
expect sth from/of sbd = demand

Hi Nessie,

There is a slight difference. ‘Expect from’ suggests that you are waiting for something to come from someone as in: I am expecting a parcel from Canada.

‘Expect of’ often refers to an opinion or standard that you believe you can get from someone or something as in: I expect polite manners of a person with his education. It is the sort of high standard you would expect of an organisation like that.
