Examinations/ to draw off marks/ I'll take that into account

Hi everyone,

Is it correct to say:

  • I marked the examinations of my students. There was one who made three mistakes, so he scored 97 out of 100?

Headmaster to one of his teachers: ‘You know that student has dysorthography, would you please take that into account when you mark his examination?’

Thanks
Alexandro

It’s okay.

“I marked my students’ examinations” would be more common.

Thanks Beeesneees, but I forgot to ask you one question. Is it common to say I drew off three marks? Or is it impossible?

I’ve never heard that.

Yes, I sounded strange to me too. One more thing: ‘I’ll take it into account is also correct?’

Yes

Hi Beeesneees,

Can you say: You have 7 out of 10 for this exercise. You made three mistakes, so that’s minus three.

Thanks.
Alexandro

Hi Beeesneees,

Is ‘I’ll take that into account natural’ or is there another expression?
