even vs even though

What is correct, ‘even’ or ‘even though’, in this sentence?
…the black rhino is powerful, its strength cannot always help it escape hunters.

As a conjunction you could say ‘even though’.

Yes Tofu. I think escape from sounds better too. But I took this from a text in my test. However, without from, the sentence still makes sense to me.
