Evaluation vs. assessment

Please I would like to enquire about the difference between an evaluation and an assessment.

[color=blue]I’ve just read the definitions online at the website you shared with me but, it is not very clear. If I asked the question because it is said in French that assessment and test are similar and evaluation is also a sort of. While in English I know it’s not the same. There is a little difference.

Then I would like stop using such confusion in class when pupils have a paper. Here is another word paper. Sincerely I like English because words are clearily used to such an extent that you understand easily what a sentence or statement means.

Hello @Born4Jesus, I believe I can help you, or at least try. The general difference between these two terms is that Assessment is a method of compiling data from different sources used to improve the given subject, whereas Evaluation is compiling data for making a better judgment over the subject, you’re not looking to improve it so much as to analyze it. There are different kinds of assessments and evaluations used respectively. At least those are my thoughts on it. I hope this helps you.
