Hi, the TOEIC is the most widely recognized business English test (by total number of test takers every year).[YSaerTTEW443543]

Agree with Torst, TOEIC is the way to go business-wise, in my opnion TOEFL is much harder but its really only used to get into college

how about IELTS?
Is it easy for non native English speakers?
I will be sitting for the IELTS in March, and I start to feel anxious about it.
I heard that IELTS is tough and not easy to get 6 or above.

Hi Kwfine,

The question is: Why are you taking the IELTS? What are your goals?[YSaerTTEW443543]

Hi Torsten!
I am seeking for a PgED in a University, but I need to satisfy their entrance requirements before I can have a chance.

What does PgED stand for – Postsecondary General Education Diploma?[YSaerTTEW443543]

I think IELTS test is one of the most well-designed English test all over the world. IELTS test is comprised of four different sections, Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Those sections are consist of a language. In my opinion, if you want to test yourself detaily you would be better to sit on IELTS test.

I am sorry, Torsten!
It should be PgDE, not PgED.

I agree with Sunhoek, IELTS is a great exam and it helps both for studying or working abroad, having two different type of certificate, academic and general training.
Academic is recognized by all the best university in the world, also in the us.
GT is accepted for working visa in uk, australia and many other english speaking countries.
And now also big companies started to require english certification to foreign workers and ielts is considered very reliable, more than others, in particular local unknowk exams

Actually I sit the test day before yesterday on 22/02/2010. It was for preparing future needs to apply for a permanent residency in australia as well as just confirming how much my english has been improved since early 2008.
I am curious about knowing more the job opportunity in uk. I am seeking an opportunity to work as a chef in United Kingdom.
Could you advise about that as far as you know please ?
By the way, my name is Sunho.

Hi Sunho
I’ve been working in UK years ago. Great websites to find a job in UK are www.chefjobs.co.uk
Best wishes!
Alex

Hello Alex.
Thank you for your reply. Your advice will help me to find a job. I am neither Australian nor European so I am unsure how I can get a permission to work in United Kingdom but I would like to try to gain one because I think it will be very exciting to work over there especially as a chef. Thank you again for your help.
By the way, can I ask you where you are working in the U.K ?

Hi, instead of waiting you should take some action. Start by reading this: English exams: IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC?[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC short conversations: Two co-workers meet after one of them has been away on a training program.[YSaerTTEW443543]

i think IELTS is better than TOEFL test. i tried both of them i think Speaking for example in IELTS is easier then Toefl because u will have more time to speak compering with Toefl.

Manal, regardless of which test you take you need to capitalize the personal pronoun ‘I’ and spell ‘you’ correctly. Also, please note the correct spelling of the word ‘comparing’ and the difference between ‘then’ and ‘than’.[YSaerTTEW443543]
