English equivalent of 'Ortsbücherei'

Hi, I have recently come across ‘Ortsbücherei Nordheim (Baden-Württemberg)’ in the text. I wonder what the English equivalent of ‘Ortsbücherei’ is? Can it be translated as a town library?

Yes, a “Bücherei” is some kind of small public library and an “Ortsbücherei” is a small library of a small community. I also think that the term 'Bücherei" is less commonly used than “Bibliothek” nowadays. Let’s see if @miot Michael agrees with me.

I think in English we would refer to that as a ‘local library’.

Sorry, I am a bit stumped by this question. I mean I have no idea from what reasons a library is named “Bibliothek” or “Bücherei” in Germany. Seemingly you can find more “Bibliotheken” in Eastern Germany you will find more “Büchereien” in old wild Western Germany.
For instance in mostly developed Leipzig  you will find a “Stadt-Bibliothek” while in good old fashioned Münster  you will find a “Stadtbücherei”.
