Either day would suit me vs. Either days would suit me

Hi

- Would you prefer Monday or Tuesday?

 • Either day would suit me.

Why not “Either days would suit me”?

Thanks a lot.

When you say ‘either’, you mean one of the two in hand, i.e. this or that. But even the plural is found used, rarely though.

But you could simply say: Either.

I would not accept the use of the plural for the reason given. It is ONE or the OTHER, not BOTH.

Alright. Thanks a lot.
