There can be a great deal of reasons to it. Nomen illis legio.
The most possible scenario is that you haven’t properly set up you mike.
It may work in one application but fail in the other.
If you using one of Windows OS then first you have to make sure that you hardware is found & correctly identified by the OS. If it is then try to setup you mike for certain application. In our case for your browser.
And would be good to try using some Internet search engines (f.e. Google). Wise men say it can be very helpful.

No offense taken, but I think you misunderstood me. First of all you have assumed, wrongly, that I like goblins because of the books they appear in and the way they are depicted. Goblins are a part of the folklore. They have existed in human conversations long before any books were written on them. Secondly, they appear in other forms of media like television too, and they are not always depicted as gruesome. Finally, please don’t cite wikipedia as a source. You know as well as I do, it is not reliable. Even you and I can make any changes to a wiki text if we want.

What was meant is that to really be fond of something one have to at least have clear image of the object. In our case, there’s no clear understanding who goblins are, how do they look like, what characteristic features they do possess.
So after all, one has to accumulate & create his own collective image of those beings, whether it appears from the fairy tales told by granny or mom in the days of blissful infancy or from the books read.
Concerning Wiki:
It’s not perfect but quite good at giving general picture. That suits me.

That’s sort of what I meant. You see my image of a goblin is not those depicted in books. As they are fantasy creatures, they are subject to the whims of my fantasy. I can think of them as some cute animals, which I do by the way. Hence, the reason of my fondness is not determined by the name or appearance of the creature in literature, but is affected by the pictures built by my mind.

First of all, about my problem with recording I have to say it is not about MIC or its setting, also it is not about having java which I already installed it twice. But I think it should be a setting in internet explorer because there is a white box which a red “X” is in it.
Any comment?

When Java is installed, many people find that it won’t run until they change some of their browser settings.
It sounds as if java is not yet enabled in Internet explorer on your machine.
Here are the instructions:
java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml
If this doesn’t work, then please ask again.
To add to what Beeesneees recommended - there may be another possible solution to the problem. Try using some different browser: Opera, Firefox etc.
Concerning connection between Java and mike’s operability - I’m in great doubt.
It seems that that absence or inactive mode of java may only cause failure to properly display certain elements of the web-page: pictures or hyperlinks.
Anyhow, usually Java is activated by default in all browsers and doesn’t need to be installed separately. At least, in my case my mike works just fine without the Java installation package pre-downloaded from Internet.
That’s the case for Vista & Win 7.
