Hello everyone,

All though, I looked up in a dictionary but i don’t understand to be different among these words: big, large, giant, huge.
Could you help me, please?
Thanks in advance!
If I wrote wrong, please correct me. Thanks

Big and large are the same size, but are sometimes used in different collocations; usually, though, they are synonymous.

Giant (adj) and huge both mean ‘very, very big/large’.

But in a book i read, they use huge instead of giant in this sentence: Every sound was huge, every game was grander, every pain was unbearable.

They could have used ‘giant’. Or ‘gigantic’ or ‘humongous’ or ‘colossal’.
