Difference between "want" and "wanted"

" I want to go abroad. "

or
" I wanted to go abroad."

Can you please tell me the difference b/w “want” and “wanted”

also send me some examples. On what situations we can use “want” and “wanted”

In your sentences, ‘want’ is present tense (‘I want to go abroad today/tomorrow’) and ‘wanted’ is past tense (‘I wanted to go abroad yesterday’).
