hi teacher,
please help me with this excercise: fill the missing word:
by the age of 25, he’d____his ambition of becoming a spanist.
the key is ‘achieved’ but i don’t understand why we can’t use the verb ‘reached’ in this sentence.please give me an explanation for this.
i look forward to hearing from you
regards
‘Achieve one’s ambition’ is a set phrase. What’s a ‘spanist’?
sorry i made a spelling mistake. thank for your answer but can you explain clearly the differences between 2 verbs(in different cases): achieve and `reach? and compare them with the verb ‘gain’?
regards
For me, reach has a sense of ‘physically’ while achieve doesn’t.
hi ctnsite,
according to you, ‘reach’ can’t be used in different cases in which it doesn’t has a sense of ‘physically’, right?
and can you say something about the differences between achieve, reach and gain?
