Difference between 'power' and 'strength'?

Would you agree with the following explanation?

The words “power” and “strength” are often used interchangeably in everyday language, but they have slightly different meanings.

Generally, “strength” refers to the physical or mental ability to exert force or withstand pressure. For example, someone who lifts weights regularly might have a lot of physical strength, or someone who has been through a difficult experience and come out stronger might be described as having emotional strength.

On the other hand, “power” often refers to the ability to control or influence others or the environment around you. It can refer to political power, economic power, or social power, among other things. For example, a government might have the power to make and enforce laws, or a business executive might have the power to make decisions that affect the entire company.

In summary, while “strength” typically refers to physical or mental abilities, “power” typically refers to the ability to control or influence others or the environment around you.

I think that power is the application of strength.

A person may be very strong, but when he uses his strength to lift a weight he becomes a power lifter.
A person may be a candidate for an office with strong leadership characteristics, but when he becomes an office-holder he can use those characteristics to wield power for change.
An electric circuit might have a strong current, but it only becomes power when it flows through a light bulb.
A strong Navy can project power around the globe.

Just to get nit picky…

You can’t have current without power. You can have voltage without power, but not current without power.

Yes, this is the case of saying something understandable that gives the generally idea rather than something technically correct.

Joke of the day
A man arrives in hell and meets the devil.
Devil: This is the pool of lava that you will stand in for all eternity.
Man: Actually, since we are below ground, this is magma.
Devil: This is why you’re here.
