Lunch is usually in the middle of the day and dinner in the evening.

Thank you for your explanation, but what is supper then?
We were taught that breakfast is in morning, dinner is in the middle of the day, and supper is in evening, so now I’m a bit confused…

Supper is a little less grand/formal than dinner but is also in the evening
