Hello,
I’ve recently come across a presention about library employees with migrant background. It says that they can successfully build bridges with library users-migrants. One of the reasons is ‘Empatie mit Menschen, die sich nicht zugehörig fühlen’. Please could you explain to me the meaning of the second part of the sentence (die sich…)?

They don’t feel as if they belong - they don’t feel as if they are part of the community in which they live.
