Developers for Future supported by Discourse?

At some point in 2018 Greta Thunberg decided she needs to do something to take the problems connected with global warming public since nobody really seemed to care. That’s when she started the school strikes against climate change which quickly turned into a global movement known as #FridaysForFuture.

On March 15, 2019 more than 1,5 million from more than 50 countries took part in demonstrations in more than 1000 places across the globe. #FridaysForFuture will continue gaining momentum for a number of reasons and what’s interesting is that the movement seems to prefer Twitter over Facebook and MatterMost over Slack and other other platforms.

On Twitter you can see organizations such as #SiForFuture aka #ScientistsForFuture, an initiative that has been signed by more than 30.000 scientists from several countries supporting the FridaysForFuture movement. There are also other groups supporting the global climate protection movement such as ParentsForFuture, EntrepreneursForFuture and lately #DevelopersForFuture.

Last night I saw a tweet by Ellie Goulding asking her 7 million followers who of them is supporting the climate strikes and maybe at some point there will be #ArtistsForFuture.

At any rate I think it’s time to start a forum for the global FridaysForFuture movement and the best platform for this purpose is Discourse. What do you think?
