Dart vs shoot vs nip

Please read:

a. A dog darted across the road.
b. A plane shot across the sky.
c. He’s just nipped out to the bank.

Can “dart”, “shoot”, “nip” be interchangeable in these 3 sentences? If not, please explain the difference in meaning of the 3 verbs?

a. A dog darted across the road. (ran quickly like a dart)
b. A plane shot across the sky. (moved very fast like a bullet from a gun)
c. He’s just nipped out to the bank. (gone out but will be back soon)
