Ralf,
Here is an introduction: I was thinking lot and knowing you it could be a very good prank. I don’t know it but In Hungarian there is a prank when somebody complains sore throat(tonsillitis) the people say to him, here is this brand new razor blade, gulp it down and you will see your sore throat be over forever. This is a real folk-saying when a sore doesn’t want to make a good recovery.
So my answer in a dialogue.
-I have a sore throat-says the husband.
-Oh dear, hear is a spoon of honey put in your mouth and keep it there as long as you know and after gulp it. - says her wife.
After an hour his husband are groaning.
-Have you got still your sore throat ?-ask the wife.
-Yes.
-Wait a minute, I have ice cubes in the freeze, I put them in a cloth and I apply a cold compress onto your neck. For the inflammation it is very good a cold compress.
After an hour his husband are groaning harder.
Ah my dear, your sore wasn’t be over?-ask the wife.
-No, it is worse and worse.
The wife began to be impatient and says:
-Then here is this brand new razor blade swallow it and your sore throat will be over forever.
according to your version and to web 2.0 .What is common in them?
choppy = (of style writing)containing lot of short sentences and changing topics too often (honey?) changeable= often changing(ice cube is changeable) off the cut=off hand; at sight (???)
Could you please to explain why these words are the answer to the previous ones?
“My version is plain web 2.0; choppy, changeable, and off the cuff.
honey, ice cubes and a brand new razor blade.”
It is really interesting. I was trying to understand the meaning and why it is used in this discussion. I asked a friend to break it down for me. So, is it considered colloquial?
Ralf says that I’ve got them. In this time we say :A blind man may perchance hit the mark.
If you understand why it is used in this discussion, will you please to tell me.
I don’t know whether my fantasy is all that crazy or not, but I would love to travel through time without accidentally changing a thing. I wish I could see how it all starts and be there when it all ends–and check out everything that happened/is happening/will happen until then. Of course with an absolutely safe safety button! I love the time and place I’m living in, so I want to be able to come back whenever I want.
