I would simply insert the phrase ‘they will also’ after ‘and’
- Students will be trained in their chosen fields and they will also be taught work-related skills.
However you can also split your sentence as follows:
- Students will be trained in their chosen fields. In addition, they will also be taught work-related skills.
‘As well as’ would only make your sentence very complicated and maybe unintelligible.
