What is the exact meaning of this sentence?
"I have been advised that you will be my friend. "

  1. A person advice me to choose you as my friend.
  2. I chose you to be for myself as a friend.
    Or anything else?

I think the 1 is correct because sentence sounds passive. If so, for making the sentence to active state is it correct to say “I advised you will be my friend” ?

I think He/She has advised me to choose you as my friend is better than yours. Anyway, I don’t think using present perfect tense here seems not really good.

I dont know what do you mean by such an answer "Bookaholic English’
please made your answer more clear

“I have been advised that you will be my friend” =
Someone else has told me that you will be my friend.

“I have been advised that you would be a good friend.” =
Someone else has told me that you would be a good friend for me to choose.

Advice always comes from someone else. You cannot advise yourself.

“I choose you as my friend.” =
I have chosen you as a friend myself.
