Hi Torsten,
‘Connected’ suggests simply ‘joined’ and often refers to two nouns as in the old song: the knee bone is connected to the thigh bone … and so on. ‘Interconnected’ suggests perhaps an abstract idea as in: In the novels of Charles Dickens the narrative and the social commentary are interconnected. In other examples it suggests a joining of for example mechanical parts that need each other for the machine to work.
