Confused - how to use 'admit'?

Hi,

‘‘She admits to being strict with her children.’’
‘‘He admits stealing the money.’’ What’s the difference?

‘‘Don’t be afraid to admit to your mistakes.’’
‘‘He admitted all his mistakes.’’ what’s the difference?

Hi,

‘Admit to doing’ and ‘admit doing’ mean the same. There is a slight difference with ‘to doing’ or ‘to a noun’ as they possibly refer more specifically to the action (verb) or the activity (noun) admitted.
