My response:

With the advent of modern technology, transportation infrastructure has improved. Now a days different types of transportation are available from bike to airplane. In order to choose the transportation, one should keep in mind the distance of one’s trip and also time that one has. When travelling forty miles away from my home we can choose two types of transportation: a car and public transport. These types of transportation has their own advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage of using own car is that we can enjoy the convenience of driving. For example, when I was in studying in the john Hopkin University in Maryland.I drove to the university. I do not need to take permission from any one.I can listen my favorite radio news and can use air condition as cool as I like. In other words I do not have to concern about the comfort of other people.

The disadvantage of car is that it is very expensive as compared to the public transport.
When I was in New York five years ago and I commuted by my own car. I had to spend money not only for gas but also for parking. Therefore ,I preferred to use public transport rather than drive my car.
The benefit of public transport is that it is affordable. I remembered when my father lived in New York. He saved a lot of money by using the train.

The drawback of public transport is that we have to aware how bus system or train works since every bus or train has its own specific routes and names. I remembered how confused I was when my husband told me routes of different buses and trains the first time.

After comparing two types of transportation, the method I would choose is my own vehicle since car would ensure my comfort or my optimum benefit which is not possible with public transport.

This is the type that requires the most words - it looks like you were running out of time at the end and had to make your paragraphs a little short. Still, you addressed the prompt well and were able to include some good examples. I think adding some transitions would help your essay flow more smoothly. Now a days{all one word} different types of transportation are available[,] from bike to airplane. In order to choose the [best means of] transportation, one should keep in mind the distance of one’s trip and also [the]time that one has. When travelling forty miles away from my home we {the switch from “my” to “we” sounds odd here - maybe “our homes”} can choose two types of transportation: a car and public transport. These types of transportation ha[ve] their own advantages and disadvantages.
[To begin,] The advantage of using [our] own car[s ] is that we can enjoy the convenience of driving. For example, when I was in studying [at] in the [J]ohn[s ] Hopkin[s ] University in Maryland[, ]I drove to the university {I would add “daily” to make this more clear}. I d[id] not need to take [get] permission {this seems a little odd - would any form of transportation require getting permission? or are you contrasting owning your own car with borrowing a friend or relative’s?} from any one{one word}.{space after periods} I c[ould] listen my favorite radio news and c[ould] use{adjust is better} [the] air condition[ing] {or “air conditioner”} as cool as I like[d ].
