Hi, every one
I’m listening a Britney’s song. The lyrics has 2 phrases : cold as fire, hot as ice.
I know they are paradoxes like bitter sweet but I do not quiet get its meaning.
Could you “simply” explain it ?

Hello, Mr. Cheng:
Of course, I canNOT explain it. Someone will soon answer you. I also want to know the answer.
So why am I replying?
Because I know how much you want to speak (and write) proper English, so I thought that you would NOT be offended if I mentioned several “mistakes” in your question.
“Everyone” is usually one word. It is two words only in a sentence such as: There were 12 donuts. Mona ate every one.
You always “listen TO” something: Listen to that bird!
The word “quite” is very different from “quiet.”
Could you explain it simply? (That is, in a simple manner so that it is easy to understand.)
(Could you simply explain it? = I ask only one thing: explain it.)
If I offended you, let me know. I do NOT nitpick (criticize every little mistake). But I thought that you would want to know about those things.
James
Your problem you are having understanding these phrases stems from the fact that you expect modern pop song lyrics to make sense.
I do not intend this meaning, I just want to say “please explain it simple so I can understand easily”. that is.
Not at all, as long as they are the positive comments (not criticize me aggressively). I’d accept and learn from that happily ha ha. I wrote the question in a hurry and did not check the grammar. Now, I think you believe that I’m not an advanced student as you said, right. Thank you James as always
Hi Bee and Canadian45.
Are you trying to say that the lyrics are nonsense. They just write those paradox phrases to be cool, not carry any specific meanings ?
Thank you for your help.
You are right.
Everyone should make constructive suggestions – especially since grammarians themselves do not agree on everything in English grammar.
By the way, are you referring to Britney Spears?
If you are, then you may have heard that she is now appearing in Las Vegas. She has signed up to be there for several years. As you know, she is much older now – and so are her fans. I have read that Las Vegas is expecting many of her fans from earlier days to attend her Vegas shows.

Thanks for the info,. James.
I’m a fan of Celine Dion, not Britney. I am just curious about the lyrics. Thought, I am aware that not all lyrics make sense and grammatical. I just see the phrases interesting and wondered what they meant.
Thanks for the clarification.
