Clarify between the meaning of word 'possible' and 'viable'

Dear all,

I need to clarify between the meaning of word ‘possible’ and ‘viable’ where I can use these words in sentences.

Thanks.

In my opinion:
POSSIBLE > Normally probable to happen
VIABLE > Capable of sustaining itself

That definition of ‘possible’ is misleading.

possible - capable of happening.

Though I also wanted to give the same meaning first, I was driven by the thought that the word (‘possible’) could not mean ‘certain’, and that there was an element of doubt. It expresses ‘can’ not ‘will’. That is, it is only ‘very likely’.

Beeesneees,
‘Going to moon is technically possible but it is not economically viable.’
Please correct the above sentence.
Thanks.

the moon…

Beeesneees,

  1. ‘But being technically possible does not necessarily make it commercially viable.’
  2. ‘The surviving structure of the old palace is preserved as far/much as possible.’
    Are these sentences OK?
    If not, please correct them.
    Thanks.

yes
