Hi, can you please tell us more about this job? How much Chinese does the trainer need to understand and speak? An experienced English trainer should be able to teach beginners without using the native language of their students. For example, almost any English school in the US or the UK offer English classes to beginners. Those classes typically consist of students from different countries. So the trainer needs to use English in the classroom right from the start. When I did my CELTA training at International House in the UK, we were trained to teach beginners using English only. This approach is much better than using the native language of the students for a number of reasons.
