Do you agree or disagree? In order to become financially responsible adults, children should learn to manage their own money at a young age.
Parents have different approaches in training their children and preparing them for their future lives. Some people think that children are not enough mature to be allowed to manage their own money, while others hold a different opinion and say that we should teach children how to deal with their own money in order to become a financially accountable individual in future. As far as I am concerned, I believe that the best way to make a person financially responsible is to train him how to manage its own money at a young age, because he can encounter different conditions and learn invaluable lessons. Equally important, people can learn better when they are young.
First, human beings tend to learn things by repetition and making mistakes, thereby permitting young children to manage their own money, they can experience various situations and enlarge their knowledge. In most of the times, they would make wrong decisions, but they learn valuable lessons, as a consequent, they are less likely to repeat their mistakes again in their future lives. For example, when I was young, I was allowed to spend my money on whatever I desired. I remember that my dream was to have a bicycle, so I started to save my money and continued that for six months, but one day I suddenly lost my mind and expended all of my savings on some ice-cream and chocolate. At first, I was happy and I did not understand what a blunder I have made, but when they finished I realized that I was not able to buy bicycle any more, since I had lost all of my money. This event taught me that I should not spend my money on trifles and I must save it to be able to reach my objectives.
Second, we all learn different thing more effectively at early ages, so childhood is a best time to teach a person how to manage his own money. It is because the mind of a child has a capability to store wide varieties of issues without confusing them. Due to my parents approach in permitting me to decide about my money at childhood, for instance, I am an expert in money management now and I can cope with any financial problem that I face in my life with ease.
To sum up, I believe that children should be allowed to decide about their own money in order to learn how to manage it. In this way, they can acquire some practical skills and be a successful person in future in terms of handling financial difficulties.
