20/02/2021:Children should do organized activities in their free time while others believe children should be free to do what they want. Discuss both views and give your opinion?
It is true that there are conflicting views about the utilization of free time by children. Although it can be stated that it is better to supervise the activities of kids in their spare time, I would argue that they should be let free completely.
Admittedly, engaging in organized group activities is certainly beneficial for children. First, since these activities are supervised strictly, it would be safe for children when they participate in. Second, by involving in group activities, youngsters can acquire the skills needed to carry out a social role within the community such as team spirit and cooperation. For instance, when children play a sport such as football or cricket, they can learn the importance of teamwork to achieve their common goal. These activities also enhance the confidence level and interpersonal skills for children.
On the other hand, children should be independent in choosing their activities in their free time. To begin with, it improves decision-making skills. This means that when children engage in what might look like silly games to us, they are actually honing their ability to pick between several options. While playing, they are independently practicing their decision-making skills, something that will go on to enhance their ability to make choices. Furthermore, by partaking in the activities which occupied on their own, children may discover their own interests and even life passion. Without the structure of preplanned events, activities or lessons, children will inevitably experience and, more importantly, find ways to overcome boredom. Where that takes them could be something they fall in love with for life.
In conclusion, I agree with those who argue that children should keep themselves occupied on their own in their leisure time.
