capability / capacity / ability

  1. He worked to the limits of his capability.
  2. He worked to the limits of his capacity.
  3. He worked to the limits of his ability.
Are they correct? Do they mean the same?
    Thanks.

My observations:

First, ‘to the maximum of’ in place of ‘to the limits of’ is better.
Second, one can’t work but one can eat, contain, suffer etc to one’s capacity.

Capability is the power/quality to do a thing.
Capacity is the power/quality to hold things etc.
Ability is possession of some skill/competence/talent etc
Capability is not the same as ability.

1 and 3 are okay as written.
The meanings differ.
