Tiny little peanuts bury themselves underground and remain unearthed until they’re ripe.
“remain unearthed”, is this grammatically right? and what’s the meaning of this?

PS The grammar is fine.
thank you for your quick response, Alan. but I am still a little bit confused.
according to the oxford dictionary, unearth refers to “to find sth in the ground by digging”, e.g. “to unearth buried treasures”. since “unearth” is a one time action, how can it be “remain unearthed”.
thanks.
Whether ‘unearth’ is a one time action or not is irrelevant since the expression is ‘remain unearthed’. As Alan explained, if something remains unearthed it is not taken out of the ground.
You are confused because you are trying to use a dictionary definition rather than looking at the context of the sentence.[YSaerTTEW443543]

hi, Torsten, thank you for your explanation.
so according to the context of this sentence, we can say that “unearth” here means “not taken out of the ground”, right?
thanks.
