Allen, 51, appeared in a Delphi, Indiana, courtroom last week for a three-day hearing ahead of his October trial for the murders of Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13.
Can the comma after “Indiana” be removed?
Thanks

I checked several sources. They all said to put a comma after the state. So by that rule it is correct as written.
I personally don’t like that “rule” and would never use a comma there. Somebody came up with that rule for unknown reasons, but I think it should be done away with. It just doesn’t look right. There would also not be a pause when spoken.
I’m afraid not.
If removed, there is a possibility of the court being mistaken as Indiana court!
