Topic: In twenty years there will be fewer cars than there are today.

With the booming development of economy, citizens currently are more easier to afford a car. Even in some developed countries, a family may own several cars. However, it is convincing that there will be fewer cars in the coming 20 years, because of the urge demand for less pollution, the more utilization of public transportation and the skyrocketing price of gas.

Since the environment protection becomes a major concern to most people, everybody will consider not to drive so frequently. The pollution, including air pollution, noise pollution, generated by cars is disturbing civilians’ lives everywhere. The air now we breathe is no longer as fresh as before. For example, it’s reported that people living in big cities are suffering from diseases more serious than those who live in countryside. One explanation for this phenomenon is due to the air in metropolis contains more particles.

In addition, public transportation rather than cars will be the optimal choice for going out. In order to encourage people to utilize public transportation, governments are making their best efforts to equip cities with advanced facilities. For instance, besides cars, a city might have transportation system such as buses, metros and even bikes. The public transportations could also ease the traffic jams and save people plenty of time.

Last but not least, since the total amount of gas is decreasing swiftly, the higher the gas price is, the fewer people will drive a private car. Though there are some electric cars, gas will still play a crucial role in powering cars. With the gas price increasing every week, there is no doubt that few people can afford the costly price in the future and thus, they will look for other alternatives.

To draw a conclusion, fewer cars will be used in the future for the reasons listed above. Meanwhile, other factors should be improved simultaneously, such as the quality of buses, the appropriate increase of routes and the safety concerns.
