Cacophony: what does it mean?

Dictionary says “Cacophony” means “jarring noise”. I wish to listen to that noise. Could you please help me?

I’d prefer this definition:
A harsh, discordant, meaningless mixture of sounds.

The sounds can be anything - voices, car horns, engines, animals… there are all sorts of possibilities. When they mix together in a loud, irritating noise that can be described as a ‘cacophony’.
I’m afraid being a softly spoken creature I cannot provide an example, just some sentences in which the word is used:

(It seems that ‘Cacophony’ is also the name of a heavy metal band.)

The beautiful harmony of the symphony was well enjoyed after the cacophony coming from the stage as the orchestra warmed up.

“Chaotic sounds” is a good way to describe it.

A related idiom is “I can’t hear myself think.”
This means that due to a lot of noise it is hard to concentrate. This idiom might refer to cacophony, but may also mean any distracting noise such as music, people talking, etc.

“Phon” can be a prefix or suffix.
