Hi, is there a plural form of efficiency and if so would you use it? I’m asking because I have come across the following phrase and I wonder the author didn’t use the singular form (efficiency). How do you feel about the efficiencies of modern technology?

Yes, that sounds OK, Torsten-- and I would use it if I got the chance. I like the phrase.

Efficiency is of course normally uncountable, but here the idea stressed is the different sorts of efficiency which modern technology creates-- saving time, recycling materials, replacing paper with virtual paper, etc.
