Brrrrrr! It's so cold.

Good morning.

There I was last week thinking that we had seen the last of the snow and bad weather.
The rain that had fallen during the latter part of the week had cleared every remnant of snow from the roads and pavements, the sun was shining brightly, and the sky was oh so blue.

Then on Sunday the sky greyed and the snow started to float down once more, but it wasn’t very cold.

Monday’s dawning saw our waking to a wonderland of brilliant white snow clad streets and countryside, a little colder, but spectacular and breath-taking in its beauty.

This morning the beauty remains, but now we have -12C and a strong Westerly wind.

My dogs were happy to venture into the garden, returning to the warmth of the house within minutes, but they must be exercised lest they become lethargic with sleeping all day.

As soon as it is safe to walk the streets in daylight, I shall don my Arctic gear and lead all three along our usual route. I really don’t know how far we will get because the wind is so strong and biting in its intensity.

If we survive I will report back upon our return.

Kitos.

:=)) Ok Bill, I am waiting for your feedback. But seriously, it’s really cold, I mean freezing! I have not experienced such cold weather yet in my life.

Hello Bill,

your post would have made a nice addition to Huong’s thread “The Weather and Your Mood”.

Claudia

Mixi,

you’ll find out once you’re in Sweden.

Thank you for allaying my fears mixmixi,

But:

…I got him as meaning to tell us immediately. Hence, either Bill and his doggies are on a long walk or they must have happened something awkward? That´s why I´m a bit worried. Hope they didn´t perish by cold.

LOL. Thank you Michael for your concern over my welfare. It was remiss of my not to continue my earlier post.

Well, although it is bitterly cold the sun is blazing its way across the cloudless sky.

I shall take my second trip with the dogs before it starts to set. Although it isn’t radiating any warmth it is calling the Gypsy in me to start walking.

First I was obsessed by running, and now relegated to walking. Thankfully I have the dogs to accompany me, and make my walk both funny and enjoyable.

Hello mixmixi,

good to see that Bill is back and healthy. But can you next support him by sharing your coat with him? ::wink

.

Bill,

believe me or don´t, but I got a clue how cold you must have been this morning. Because: the nozzles of my car´s windshield washing system couldn´t recover from freezing the whole 50 kms from my home to the workplace. I had a bit better luck: after ten mins the heater managed to warm the car up. So that it became a pleasant ride finally unless a bit of fear because I hardly could look through of the car´s front window.

Hi Michael,

Sure, I will. You know, here is not as cold as there. most of the time, in the coldest conditions, we have -3 to -5 degrees centigrade. But it’s all right for me to share with him my coat, but the hat part is mine, because I use it to hide myself not for preserving from cold. LOL

It is so cold in Hanoi Today too.

Well, I’ve just gotten back from my second walk. The sun is quickly sinking toward the West and it is becoming even colder.
The rain on Sunday evening, which washed last weeks snow away, quickly began to freeze in the low evening temperatures.
The snow started around ten p.m. and it continued throughout the night. By morning it was around four inches deep, and lovely for walking upon.
On Monday night the snow fell again, but was packed rock hard beneath the feet of everyone, with the result that today it is unbelievably treacherous to go walking.
Walking with three dogs all pulling at the leashes is a Herculean task when trying to walk upright and watching for other dogs and little school-children.
It was a nightmare. However, we are all back safe and sound, and after drying those three mangy curs they are all on their cushions dozing, whilst yours truly is enjoying a cuppa’ and a ciggie.

Right, I’m off for a tour of the threads. See you all later.

Bill,

hello Hoado,

can you , please, tell us about the temperatures in Hanoi, which you are claiming to be cold? I´m interested in learning whether there might snow drop down and if, what would happen with the Moto-bike traffic there.

Just inquisitive

Michael

Btw, I´m told that also in Taiwan snow has fallen.
