    D. as the same importance as

  2. Many of our most useful medicines are also made from/ of plants.

I am in favour of “from” but I don’t know why please help me.

  1. Not all/ any plants are helpful to man. I choose “not all”

  2. Tiny hits of pollen from any plants cause such diseases as asthma and hay fever. Other plants destroy millions of dollars worth/ price/ value of crops yearly. IN THIS SENTECE I CHOOSE “VALUE”

  3. It was raining hard, so we had to cancel the game.
=> We had to cancel the game since/ because it was raining hard.

1B

2 from (we use the plant asd an ingredient to make the medicine).

3 Not all

4 Millions of dollars-worth of crops

5 Those are okay, but you could also use ‘as’ and this would be more usual than ‘since’.

  1. Tom: “Which is more important? Luck or effort?”Mary: “Luck is _______effort.”
    A. on the same importance
    B. of the same importance as
    C. the same importance as
    D. as the same importance as. But I am a bit queried, I don’t know the structure “to be of the same as sth” what does this mean???

And some others, please help me. Many thanks for your help.

  1. “Pass me that pen please”
    a. here you are
    b. It doesn’t matter. I choose A “here you are”

  2. Where is Mary ? She’s out. She said she would be back soon.

  3. The policeman explained to us …to get to the airport.
    a. how
    b. How to

  4. Hurry up! she’s cut herself. It bleeds quite badly.

to bo of the same importance as = to be of equal importance to. In this question luck and effort are seen as being equal.
A and D are incorrect because ‘on’ and ‘as’ are the wrong prepositions.
C is incorrect because the preposition is missing.

  1. You are correct.
  2. is probably correct butunless you post the original question it’s not possible to see what you were expected to do. There should not be a space between ‘Mary’ and the question mark.
3 should be obvious. We would not say ‘how to to’.
4 is probably wrong but unless you post the original question it’s not possible to see what you were expected to do.
    This would probably be correct:
Hurry up! She’s cut herself. It is bleeding quite badly.
