Back on my own again

Hello. Could you please tell me what the meaning of “Back on my own again”?
I’ve heard it in Mary J Blige song.

And I also can’t understand another phrase in that song - “Still on my dope boy swag
Top down on my Cam’ron, Oh boy swag” What is the “Cam’ron”? :frowning:

These are not grammatically correct phrases. Song lyrics often aren’t and the phrases would not be used outside the context of the particular song.

‘Back on my own again’ = I used to be on my own, then I had a partner/boyfriend/etc. Now he has gone and I’m on my own as I was before.

There, use of ‘top down’ indicates that a ‘cam’ron’ is a type of car. (Top down’ = the roof lowered on a convertible type car).

I wondered if had anything to do with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cam’ron

Also urbandictionary.com/define.p … e+boy+swag

You’re probably right. That’ll teach me to credit it with a modicum of logic… though it demonstrates perfectly what I mean about phrases that don’t make sense.

… still wouldn’t explain “my Cam’ron”, though, or “top down” …

That’s what I mean about it not making sense.

I believe it does have a meaning to people who understand this slang. I mean, I don’t think it is a nonsensical combination of random words, even though it looks that way to you and me.
