[color=red]

(meaning: … as if it was a target)
[color=red]
c. He kept tapping his fingers on his desk like a piano.
(meaning: … as if it was a piano)
[color=red]
d. He kept giving me orders like his servant.
(meaning:… as if I was his servant)
?
Those all seem very strange. It would be better to stick to the standard sentences, which would use ‘as if he/it/I’ were). You cannot use ‘as if’ and ‘like’ interchangeably there.
Beeesneees,
Are they correct?:
a. He punched Jeff in the face as if Jeff were a punching bag.
b. He was shooting arrows at my door as if it were a target.
c. He kept tapping his fingers on his desk as if it were a piano.
d. He kept giving me orders as if I were his servant.
Please comment. Thanks.
