as/because

Are these sentences correct with the given meanings:

[color=indigo]1-As standing in front of the window, I could see everything. (because I was standing in front of the window…)

[color=red]2-They shut down the factory as posing a danger to the public. (… because it was posing a danger to the public.)

[color=blue]3-They confiscated the weapon as being illegal. (They confiscated the weapon because it was illegal.)

I think “3” is correct but in it “as” does not mean “because”.

Gratefully,
Navi.

1 - As I was standing in front of the window, I could see everything.

2 - They shut down the factory as it posed a danger to the public.

3 - They confiscated the weapon as it was illegal.

3a - They confiscated the weapon as illegal.

‘as’ could be said to equal ‘because’ in numbers 1-3.
In number 3a ‘as illegal’ describes the weapon.
