articles

Hi,

Have I used right articles in the following sentences?

  1. They moved to a city in the coast of North America.
  2. The language of the people who lived in Holland called Dutch.
  3. The weather is getting hotter. We usually have a hot weather in the early August.
  4. The little blossom that I picked from the tree was like a snow flake.
  5. A man came up to me and asked the way to the post office.

Thanks

I’ve corrected the first three:

  1. They moved to a city on/near the coast of North America. <— correct article, wrong preposition.
  2. The language of the people who live in Holland is Dutch. <— correct article, but other errors.
  3. The weather is getting hotter. We usually have hot weather in early August. <— articles should ot be used in sentence 2.
  4. The little blossom that I picked from the tree was like a snow flake. <— correct
  5. A man came up to me and asked the way to the post office. <— correct

By the way, your question should have been, “Have I used the right articles…”
