3) What is the difference between elder and older. Are they interchangeable?
E.g. My older brother is a doctor.

I’ve attached the document.

Using please might seem like it’s more polite, but it also complicates it. Also, the active voice is usually more clear. Keep it simple.

In business correspondence, clarity is most important. Any polite niceties should be at the beginning or end of the correspondence, not in the body.

Yes, both are acceptable, and they are generally used in official correspondence in Asia particularly in India. While the first focuses more on politeness, the second on the attachment.

The words ‘elder’ and ‘eldest’ are used to refer to the members of the same family; the word ‘older’ is otherwise used. ‘Elder’ or ‘Eldest’ has no positive degree form.
