Are the comma and "for" required?

I would like to end my words of appreciation today, by praying for the true happiness of each and everyone here and for the further prosperity and peace of Singapore.

  1. Is the comma after ‘today’ required?

  2. Is the second ‘for’ required?

Thanks.

Glad to guess that you are a Singaporean! I have just written an email to my friends in Singapore.

Well, coming to your question, I would say that the comma is not necessary but the for is acceptable for emphasis.

[But I thought you would pray for us (the rest of the world) as well]

Thanks, Anglophile, for your answer to my question.

May I know where you live?

We pray for others as well. But on that occasion, the priest was addressing the Singaporean believers.
