“sea” and “ocean” : to my understanding, sea is a smaller mass of water when compare to ocean. in other words, sea is with limitations but ocean doesn’t have any limit on the earth. cheers.

I love the sea and my balcony is just near it.I always take into consideration the sea when I want to move in an onther place.I’ve got so many memories with sea especially when I was a kid.In Algeria we have the mediteranean sea and not an ocean.thanks God we have the sea.so it’s very hot today dear friends I’ll go down to swim see you …

It was wonderful! I like sea very much, may be because of in my country we have not sea, only a lake.
In my opinion any expression in relation with water is beautiful. We have very hot summer this year, and last few days we had a little rain, and now the weather likes a fresh juice.

Concerning sea of faces, I think sea can be associated with the end of the world because it is dangerous(especially during the storm) and with hugeous quantity, because of the most part of our planet is under the water.
In other words I like seas, lakes and oceans and the sky too. They all can be very exciting.

In french there is an expression with sea : ce n’est pas la mer à boire : it’s not the sea to drink, which means it’s not too difficult to do something
In arabic when do you ask a child how much he loves you he responds as much as the sea which means he loves very much

Dear Alan,

I am very tired and I am afraid that I can’t write well my letter but I write it because tomorrow we are leaving for three days and than I will be pushed for time.

I have two English friends who got married to Hungarian men. They talked about to me lot about their home-country. And I can imagine that whatever direction they take, it isn’t long before they reach the sea. They go home every year and spend a lovely week by the sea.

Hungary has not got a sea. But there is a fairly big lake, its name is Balaton, but we say the Hungarian sea. Its water not salty and there are parts where you can see only water.

Our other worth the thermal water. Hungary is full of thermal water. In the 50-s years the state looked for oil everywhere but instead of oil they found thermal water.They didn’t estimate it at all. Only in single town was built a thermal bath and of course in Budapest there are sea of thermal baths which were built before the second world war yet. These thermal baths that people flock for their healing power.

After the 1990 turning every town and village built his own thermal bath but there isn’t infrastructure and there is still a big problem.

These thermal waters contain minerals that have medicinal and curative powers when the people bath in it or drink it.

Otherwise I copied out 16 idioms with sea from the Internet and 20 expressions from the Cambridge dictionary and I fetch with myself and I want to learn them by heart at the end of the week.

How simply Mr Alan’s story made me understand the meaning of idiom. Example given in the story reminded me the very first day of mine in office. I was realy at the see . This forum is the BEST for anybody to express his / her views in the way one is able to , without any hesitation . Great !.

I understand your problem . Sometime It so happens that even we read an article or story , meaning of all the words may not be clear to us , but if at the end of the day , if we can understand the concept as a whole , I thing , that’s good enough .
And another way to get the meaning of particular word to use your PC itself . You can google and get the meaning of any word in whole english .

Hello, I think, I understand all that you say. sometime, in my job I used this expression, for exemple: When I have a several works for to be made in the same time, and I am alone, and I say " my God, I am all at sea.
