After how many days is an account deleted for being inactive?"

Hi teachers,

If I want to ask the owner of this website that “After how many days is an account deleted for being inactive?” would be correct? Can I use "inactivity instead of “inactive”?

Many thanks in advance.

Your question is fine as it is. To use ‘inactivity’ I suggest the following phrasing:
After how many days of inactivity is an account deleted?

Thank you, Madam BN. But “account deleted for being inactivity” OR “account deleted for inactivity” which one is correct and better?

Your first phrase is totally incorrect. The second one is better, nut make sure you don’t use ‘being’ with that phrase.

I would stick to either:
…is an account deleted for being inactive,
or
…days of inactivity is an account deleted.
(So, if the word refers to ‘account’ as the first example, use ‘inactive’ but if the word refers to the period of time as the second example use ‘inactivity’.)

Thanks you, BN.

Why not make life simpler and say: After how many days is an inactive account deleted ?

Alan

Thank you, Sir Alan.

I don’t think that’s any simpler than my version in message #2, but it’s another alternative.

Quite frankly I don’t care what you think about it! I was trying to help our friend, Untaught.

So was I, so that’s okay then, isn’t it?
