About the use of the present perfect continuous

Hi,

“I’ve known him ever since I was a child.”

Can I say “I’ve been known him ever since I was a child” too?

Thanks in advance. Bye

It has been continuing since childhood, no need to indicate the past tense with perfect tense.

I have been known him since my childhood too.

This is my opinion from Raymond Murphy’s grammar book.

That doesn’t work.

Alright. Thanks.

  1. I’ve known him ever since I was a child.
  2. I’ve known him since my childhood.
    Are they OK?
Do #1 and #2 mean the same?

Yes and yes.
