A University in Every Town ! (argumantative essay)

Turkish government have some plans to open new universities in provinces where they do not have. According to predictions aim of this project is a response to their constituencies who vote for them at the last elections.However,while existing universities face difficulties financially and academically,establishing new universities does not seem to be a good idea.

First of all,the new universities will face staffing problems.They will have difficulties to find a faculty that is qualifed to teach.In our country teachers who meet academic requirements is not enough.So these new universities will have to employ under qualified people.In addition new universities will not have enough funds and academicians will refuse to work at small cities where academic and life standards are low.The result of employing local professionals and under qualified teachers at small town universities will be decreasing quality of education.

Secondly,the small town universities will face financial difficulties.They will not have opportunities and funds to build some facilities.Students will need dorms,library,computer rooms and sport areas for their academic and personal development.While all existing universities does not have these requirements,the small town universities will have to settle with small classes and unsufficient facilities.

It is argued that establishing the new universities in small towns will cause sociacultural development of the host town.However,while there are not sufficient staff and financial freedom at these universities,it does not have any help to the community and economy of town.It may just cause some job opportunities and substandard education to local youth.But it is not clearly a solution or development for public’s problems.

Having said all these,universities are institutions which present higher education for us to be a qualified and talented person.In order to provide quality of education,universities need to have qualified teachers and sufficient academic and social facilities.We should increase the standard of our existing universities first.After that we can establish new ones.
