a lot of property

  1. He bought a lot of property.
  2. He bought a lot of properties.
    Which one is right?

They are both possible. The first one uses “property” uncountably, and the second uses it countably.

Dozy,
“Raman earns so much money (that) he has bought a lot of property.”
Is this sentence OK?

Grammatically it is OK.

(To me, the sentence does not seem very well balanced. “so much money (that) …” leads us to believe that something unusual or remarkable is to follow, and the fact that he has just bought a lot of property seems something of an anti-climax. However, this is quite a subtle point.)

Dozy,
“Raman earns so much money (that) he has bought a lot of property in a very short period.”
Will this sentence satisfy your expectation?
Thanks.

Dozy,
I am eagerly awaiting for your comments.
Thanks.
