Hi
Can I say ‘A good few’ and ‘A good many’?
1- A good many students understood the teacher.
2- A good few students were absent that day.

Hi Tom
I think Tamara had a thread asking about these expressions, so I think Tamara should reply.

Hi Tom,
In one word - yes. By using good in this context, you indicate considerable as in a good many emphasising the word many and a good few emphasising few.
