Yes, it’s true. A friend of mine has written a novel, but every publisher has turned him down. So, I asked him if I could read and so he gave a photocopy.
I stopped after the first five pages because the story is full of inconsistencies. Is a way of saying that his story doesn’t fit correct or are there other expressions?

What would you say?

You could talk about how you are not clear as to the reasons people do certain things or why things are happening the way they do. Start off with some specific inconsistencies.
